Founded in Shaker Heights in 2021, North Coast Haiti Mission began with a simple commitment: to step away from paternalistic aid and build lasting relational ties. We recognized that true resilience grows from the ground up, guided entirely by local leadership.
Our work bridges Northeast Ohio communities with communes in Haiti, focusing on education, resource distribution, and long-term collaborative support without savior tropes.
Traditional relief models often impose external solutions without understanding local contexts. We measure our success not by donor photo-ops, but by how effectively we support community-directed priorities and local self-reliance.
Every dollar mobilized through our Ohio network goes directly to verified grassroots partners who maintain strict operational accountability and absolute governance over their own projects.
